Cheerleaders from North Stanly High School in North Carolina have been placed on probation for the rest of the year because they posed with a banner supporting President Donald Trump.
Members of the cheer squad had held up a banner reading “Trump 2020: Make America Great Again” during a home game on August 30.
“Do you know that I get in trouble when I don’t say that [the President is racist]. People on the Left [say] ‘You know that he’s a racist’. I don’t know what’s in his heart, but I’ll tell you what I disagree with Donald Trump on — I disagree with his tone, his tenor because we are all Americans. We are all fighting for the same thing. And I know that the President wants everybody’s respect, but to get respect you also have to give respect.”
Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris has become the latest presidential candidate to say that she will force Americans to relinquish their assault weapons.
However, she’s prepared to “buy back” the rifles and “give people their value” for the confiscated firearm, Harris told an audience member Monday at “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Harris also said that “we need to do buy backs” when asked what her policy on assault weapons would be.
In July, Jackson Lee introduced several gun control bills in the House, which would ban the possession of firearms over .50 caliber and restrict individuals “from storing a firearm in a residence” where someone “under 18 is likely to get access to the firearm without their permission.” The legislation would “exempt those individuals who keep their firearms or ammunition secured, unloaded, and separately in a safe certified by the Attorney General and locked with a certified lock, or if it’s stored at a gun range or storage facility that is certified by the Attorney General.”
