Pelosi caves: House passes clean Senate bill on emergency border crisis funding

Just hours after vowing to make changes to the Senate bill, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced the House would vote on a clean emergency Senate bill passed Wednesday by an 84-8 bi-partisan vote that funds border crisis humanitarian needs. Pelosi issued a statement saying she was caving because “the children come first.”

ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) team identified that 860 of those individuals had U.S. criminal histories, including more than 20 convicted of assault or aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, nearly 30 convicted of sexual offenses, two convicted of violence against law enforcement, and one convicted of attempted murder.
