Triggered: High school considers removing mural of George Washington

A high school in Northern California — George Washington High School, to be specific — is mulling over a push to remove two 83-year-old murals from its hallways. Critics advocating for their removal say they are offensive to Native Americans and African-Americans. They say the pair of panels “traumatizes students and community members.”

Nevada: MS-13 gang members indicted by federal grand jury on kidnapping and murder

The indictment released Wednesday alleges that, on Jan. 21, 2018, Reyes-Castillo, Torres-Escobar, and Perez-Manchame kidnapped and murdered Arquimidez Sandoval-Martinez. As alleged, the defendants intentionally participated in the act of violence that resulted in the death of Sandoval-Martinez.

Reyes-Castillo and Torres-Escobar are citizens of El Salvador, and Perez-Manchame is a citizen of Honduras. All of the defendants are illegally in the United States, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
