SCOTUS to decide whether Trump administration can end DACA

The Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether plans by the Trump administration to end the so-called DACA program for young undocumented immigrants can proceed.

The justices announced Friday they will hear oral arguments on the appeal in its next term, which begins in October. A ruling is expected in the presidential election year, putting the high court at the center of one of the most politically charged issues.

Pelosi caves: House passes clean Senate bill on emergency border crisis funding

Just hours after vowing to make changes to the Senate bill, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced the House would vote on a clean emergency Senate bill passed Wednesday by an 84-8 bi-partisan vote that funds border crisis humanitarian needs. Pelosi issued a statement saying she was caving because “the children come first.”

President Trump blasted the contestants in the second Democratic presidential debate on Thursday when they all declared their support for health care coverage for undocumented immigrants.

All of the candidates — including former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Kamala Harris and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg — raised their hands when asked by an NBC moderator if they would support a health care plan that would cover undocumented immigrants.
